Cat Food Lab (“Company”) provides the website and mobile service at catfoodlab.co.kr (the “Service”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Service.
Article 1 (Purpose and Acceptance)
These Terms set out conditions of use, rights and obligations, disclaimers, and dispute resolution. By signing up, logging in, subscribing, paying, using AI features, submitting product data, entering care/meal/weight records, or using Feed and ranking features, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Article 2 (Nature of the Service & Veterinary / Medical Disclaimer)
All features below are not veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or prescription. They are limited to general dietary, nutritional, and care guidance and reference information only:
- Dr. Cherry AI chat, AI health summaries, bloodwork AI, palatability and nutrition analysis, and all other AI outputs
- Calorie, hydration, nutrient, and phosphorus calculators; Smart Diet; Care Diary tools
- Paid one-on-one nutrition consultations and related feedback
- Community, wiki, rankings, guides, and other informational content
Results may not reflect your pet’s full clinical picture, lab work, history, medications, allergies, or prescription diets. You must prioritize advice from a licensed veterinarian and must not rely on the Service alone to change diet, stop medication, or delay treatment.
The Company disclaims liability, to the maximum extent permitted by law, for harm to pets or economic loss arising from reliance on AI output, calculations, consultations, or other Service content.
Article 3 (Accounts)
- You must provide accurate information and safeguard your account credentials.
- Impersonation, false registration, or abusive multi-account use is prohibited.
- You may request account deletion via profile settings or customer support.
Article 4 (Service Scope and Changes)
We provide pet nutrition and diet management, care logging, product discovery, AI assistance, Care+ subscriptions, points, and paid consultations. We may modify or discontinue features for operational, technical, or legal reasons with reasonable notice when material.
Article 5 (User-Submitted Product / Wiki Data Ownership)
- Product and nutrition data you submit (including data registered for points/rewards) becomes part of the Company’s shared Service database upon submission.
- Such data may continue to be used across the Service for other users’ search, comparison, analysis, and care records and may remain after you delete your account to preserve seamless service for others.
- You warrant accuracy and lawful rights to submitted data; you bear responsibility for third-party IP or false information.
- We may review, edit, merge, or localize submitted data for quality and compliance.
Article 6 (AI Chat Storage & Cross-Device Sync)
- For seamless sync between mobile apps and the web, AI conversation logs and recent context may be stored in a central database with encryption and other safeguards.
- By using the Service, you consent to such storage and sync as described in our Privacy Policy.
- If you enter personal information (name, phone, address, credentials, etc.) into AI chat, you assume the risk of exposure, misuse, or third-party AI processing; the Company is not liable absent willful misconduct or gross negligence.
- AI responses are probabilistic and may contain errors or inappropriate content.
Article 7 (Paid Services, Subscriptions & Refunds)
7-1. Paid offerings
- Subscriptions (Care+): premium features and subscription-based digital content (displayed fees and billing cycles may vary by platform, promotion, tax, or exchange rate; the amount shown on each product and checkout screen controls)
- One-on-one paid consultation: paid dietary and nutrition consultation services (scope, fees, and delivery follow the product page and checkout screen)
- Other digital content and in-app tips/donations
7-2. Billing and renewal
App Store, Google Play, and web billing policies apply. Subscriptions may auto-renew until canceled per platform rules.
7-3. Refund limits
Because offerings are digital content and online services, refunds may be limited after a consultation has started or premium features have been materially used, within applicable law and store policies. Mandatory refunds under consumer law still apply where required.
Article 8 (Points — Earning and Use)
- The Company may award points (“Points”) when members meet conditions we set, such as registering product or food information, participating in events or promotions, or using the Service.
- Points may be classified into “Bonus Points” granted free of charge and “Paid Points” purchased by the member for value. Earning, use, validity periods, and refund conditions may differ by Point type; specifics follow in-service displays or separate policies.
- Points may be used as a payment method for Company-designated products and services (e.g., subscription extensions, paid features). Eligible uses, rates, and limits follow in-service displays and separate notices.
- Unless otherwise stated, Bonus Points are deducted before Paid Points when Points are used.
- Earning criteria, usage rules, accrual, and deduction may differ by Point type. The Company may set or change separate validity periods for each type; Points may expire when their validity ends.
- Points may be used only on the member’s own account. They may not be transferred, lent, pledged to third parties, sold, or traded for value. Bonus Points are not redeemable for cash or cash equivalents, while refunds of Paid Points follow applicable law and Company policy.
- Paid Points may be refunded for their unused portion in accordance with applicable law and Company policy. However, already-used Paid Points, Bonus Points, and any free amounts granted together with Paid Points are excluded from refunds.
- If Points are earned through false submissions, abuse of events or rewards, automation or cheating tools, multiple or third-party accounts, or other improper means, the Company may claw back all or part of those Points and restrict Service use, suspend Point use, or suspend membership as needed.
- Upon account deletion, all remaining Points expire immediately and are not restored even if the member re-registers (refund eligibility for Paid Points follows paragraphs 6 and 7).
- The Company may announce changes to, or termination of, the Points program by reasonable notice before or after the fact when operationally necessary.
Article 9 (Feed, Rankings & Community Statistics)
- Meal, feeding, weight, and care records and pet profile information you enter (“Care Data”) may be used for Feed, rankings, insights, disease/cohort food statistics, and other similar features (collectively, “Feed/Ranking Features”), as well as for service operation, quality improvement, and de-identified or aggregated statistics.
- Through Feed/Ranking Features, other logged-in members may see display names (nicknames, etc.), pet names, photos, daily or period calorie/intake amounts, weight, rank, country indicators (flags, etc.), age, and cohort participation in an identifiable form. This is reference information only and does not constitute veterinary judgment or treatment for any pet.
- Aggregated statistics such as popular foods by product or disease cohort—without identifying individual pets—may be derived from members’ Care Data and displayed. We may change aggregation rules, display formats, and exposure scope.
- By entering or syncing Care Data or using Feed/Ranking Features, you are deemed to consent to such display to other members and to aggregated use under this Article. Details of personal-data processing are in our Privacy Policy.
- We operate display policies to avoid exposing unnecessary identifiers such as full email addresses, phone numbers, or precise addresses in Feed/Rankings. However, if no nickname is set, part of your email may be used as a display name. You are responsible for setting an appropriate nickname in your profile.
- Feed/Ranking display may stop or update upon account deletion, deletion of care records, or privacy settings (where offered). De-identified or aggregated statistics already produced may be retained for service quality and research. Items that may remain in shared databases or aggregates after deletion follow Article 5 (user-submitted product data) and this Article as applicable.
- We may change Feed/Ranking UI, ranking algorithms, audience (e.g., logged-in members only), and privacy controls, with reasonable notice for material changes.
Article 10 (Prohibited Conduct)
- Reverse engineering, scraping, bulk harvesting, or reselling the Service or databases
- Submitting false product/nutrition data, spam, defamation, or illegal content
- Representing the Service as veterinary diagnosis or prescription
- Any conduct violating applicable law or public order
Article 11 (Intellectual Property)
Service UI, branding, software, database structure, and edited AI outputs belong to the Company or licensors. Commercial reuse or redistribution without prior written consent is prohibited.
Article 12 (Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability)
We are not liable for force majeure, network or third-party (AI, cloud, payment, store) failures, your misconduct, or free features except where law requires otherwise. Our aggregate liability for paid services may be capped at amounts you paid in the preceding three months, where permitted.
Article 13 (Governing Law and Disputes)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Users in the EU, US, and other regions may also have mandatory consumer and privacy rights (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy. Disputes shall be submitted to courts with jurisdiction over the Company’s principal place of business, subject to mandatory consumer forum rules.
Article 14 (Changes)
We may revise these Terms with notice of effective date and material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
